SHARK FISHING

I get a lot of calls for Shark Fishing, Especially during Discoveries “Shark Week”. We have quite a few sharks around a little further offshore during the summer all the way through November sometimes. Most of the sharks caught are Blacktips, Spinners, Atlantic Sharpnose, and Bullsharks. Other species of sharks are possible, like Hammerheads and Makos, but are pretty rare.
Once shrimping season opens around the beginning of July, the shrimpers shrimp all night, then anchor up in the morning and cull their catch. Sharks follow these boats all night waiting to pick up any by catch that is tossed over the sides. In the morning when they do their final cull for the day, This is the best time and place to fish for Sharks. We usually hook multiple sharks but don’t always land them all. Their sharp teeth can cut through the line like butter. If your interested in a Shark fishing trip give me a call.
